Smells Like Teen Spirit : No matter-1991

Nirvana

Nirvana was an American rock band and was formed by singer / guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana went through a series of drummers, the longest being Dave Grohl, who joined the band in 1990.

Nirvana in the 1980s was established as part of the Seattle grunge scene, releasing their first album Bleach for the independent label Sub Pop in 1989. The band finally came to develop a sound that had dynamic contrasts, often between the lines calm and strong and heavy riffs. After signing with major record label DGC, Nirvana found unexpected success of "Smells Like Teen Spirit," the first single from the second album the band Nevermind (1991). Sudden success of Nirvana popularized alternative rock as a whole, and as the singer Kurt Cobain found himself referred to media as the "spokesman of a generation", with Nirvana being considered the "flagship band" of Generation X. Nirvana's third studio album In Utero (1993), challenged the audience of the group, with a sound abrasive, but conventional. The album does not match the sales figures of Nevermind, but it was still a commercial success
